Interesting news in a more business focused fashion as Sega has announced that they are proceeding up a new effort to help cross-promote other Japanese mobile game designers. It also looks like this particular alliance isn\’t just about promoting each others games but also in regards to posting them, at least through the sound of things.
However it looks as though members of this particular alliance will still publish their own games, its more about saving cash by avoiding the revenue share imposed by the country\’s leading networks: DeNA and Gree. Each companies take what sounds like a significant cut from the income these companies makes with their games that happen to use either DeNA\’s or Gree\’s providers which, in turn, greatly lowers the actual cash these companies bring in once they make a sale of a sport.
In total there are Fifteen Japanese companies aboard with this alliance and they are not just some smaller sized independent companies possibly with big the likes of Capcom and Taito are both people. The main goal of all of this happens is about creating a larger community of players that can after that be moved between your companies\’ various games. Obviously it would be nice in the event that companies like Capcom would submit half of their Japoneses games we all want in English as well.
The event is set to kick off this Fall. It will be interesting to see the number of games we wind up seeing released for that English crowd, if any at all, through this.
