Herocraft has made lots of games for cellular as well as publishing games by other developers as well. However the clients are looking to expand their hands and in doing so they are breaking into an area where a lot of games do not reach into. This area is the cross-platform gaming encounter and while there\’s a lot of video games that are cross-platform between iOS as well as Android, there isn\’t a good deal that move past that into the realm of PC/Mac/Linux gaming.
While some games obtain ported over to those platforms from mobile, and the same is true the other way around, that doesn\’t mean a mobile players can play against your personal computer gamer most of the time. They are two separate versions of the same game. Lords of Discord is one of Herocraft\’s upcoming games just announced which will actually be cross-platform multiplayer along with iOS, PC, Mac and Linux users as well.
Lords of Discord is a turn-based strategic strategy game with some rather nice pictures and some interesting game play to it. From the brief teaser video we have seen and some of the particulars we have learned, this game is almost like a MOBA to some extent, at least in terms of roadmaps. There are two playable races in this game: People and Demons and while there is single-player content available (a campaign for each race with 12 missions), the real meat of this game will be the multi-player.
There are three kinds of heroes as well as three different types of landscape to experience through. Each region also has terramorphing abilities as well which players will have to deal with. Heroes will have a number of items to use including various weaponry, armors and support items like potions. There will also be an additional 30 unit kinds as well to support every hero.
When it comes to multi-player modes this game may pretty much let you perform anywhere at any time. You will see hot-seat multiplayer, online match-ups and the ability to play-by-mail, almost as if you were playing a game of Chess.
Herocraft has already released a Kickstarter campaign with regard to Lords of Discord for additional funding and as of today it\’s also now on Steam\’s Greenlight plan for voting. No matter what happens though with funding and all that good stuff, Lords of Discord will be released in 2014.
